                                                                                        VICTORY FOR TROUBLED YOUTH

First, I want to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for his blessings on us. He saved my soul in 1982, called me to preach his precious words, and put me a ministry that has reached thousands of youth in the last 15 years. At this writing we are in Waco, TX. We will soon be heading back to Alabama as I’m due for my next cancer check up on March 24.
1. I’m now cleared to preach in the state prisons here in Texas. So far, I have not done it yet, but am calling chaplains in those places. No, the prisons are not my main focus, the youth are…to keep them out of those prisons and out of hell. But, many times getting the work started in these juvenile centers takes time, and if I can preach to men and women in prison…praise the Lord! They need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ too.
2. Also, I’m cleared in all the state juvenile centers here in Texas now. I just got back from Corsicana where I did the orientation and got finger printed again. I’m scheduled to preach in Corsicana on July 17. The great blessing of that is I will be taking a service that a church of Christ has. I know they lie to the youth about salvation. Sadly, this is not a permanent change for that facility, but even once will be enough to reach them for Jesus Christ. Pray that the door there will open for a regular service for a King James Bible believer to go in.
3. The work in San Antonio, TX at the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center is VERY slow getting started. Three churches there have taken volunteer applications…one is Faith Baptist Church, Pastor Mike Martin, SR, another is Solid Rock Baptist Church, Pastor Mike Martin, JR, and the third is Huisache Ave Baptist Church, Pastor Bez Cummings. Pastor Cummings and his wife were called in to begin orientation and were given a psychological test, and a 500 question “test”. I’ve never seen anything like this for clearance in a juvenile center. Pray for all three of these churches that they will be allowed to preach in there, because right now there is no truth in there.
4. Finally, everything man makes eventually falls apart. Our 5th wheel trailer that my wife and I live in and minister out of, is one of those things. It’s a 2003, and we got it in 05. It’s been to California and back twice…it’s been to Pennsylvania and Virginia. It’s been to Florida…and in all these states has traveled from one end to the other. And, it was not designed for this kind of use. I didn’t know that when I got it. We’ve been looking at 5th wheels, and there is one brand that is made FOR full timers. The manufacturers ENCOURAGE full timers in their 5th wheels. That brand is Carriage RV of Millersville, IN. You can check them out online at www.carriageinc.com. We’re looking at either the CABO or the CAMEO. At my home church, Victory Baptist Church in Millbrook, AL we have started the VFTY RV Fund. I don’t plan to purchase this 5th wheel on credit. If the Lord does not supply the funds, we will continue in this one until the wheels fall off. The truck, an F350 is running well. It now has 200,000 miles on the engine, but seems to be running strong. Now, I know this. There are some people reading this who could pay for the 5th wheel entirely. If the Lord so burdens you, I give him all the glory. And, if someone wants to give us a new F350, we won’t say “NO”. However, if the Lord does not encourage you to help, then don’t. Do what HE says.
5. Finally, continue to pray for our health situations. Sandy’s asthma often gives her much problem. It’s hard to even tell what triggers the attacks. Also, I’m being checked for melanoma cancer on March 24, pray that I’m still clear. On the 29th I go in for a stress test at my heart doctor’s. We want to stay on the road for the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray also…fuel prices are hurting…it takes over $100.00 for one fill up.
Thank you all for your support and prayers.
